Our agriculture project is unique, because we believe that agriculture is not only how to plant and sell food, but how we promote poor farmers to start and run small farming businesses.
In Khele-Banzu, Men and women learn to grow their own food. For $85.00, they were given seeds and hand tools that will support their families longer than a hand-out. At Khele-Banzu, peanut and corn farming will provide these people with food that goes beyond a handout. For less than $6, they can afford seeds and hand tools that will help these widows care for their children. Although the hand tools that they need are only a few dollars, these people cannot afford them. By giving them tools to help themselves, we can change entire families and villages by getting them started towards self-sufficiency.
